I do not accept insurance for my services. However, many insurance providers offer out-of-network coverage, meaning you can receive reimbursement up to a certain amount to help offset the cost of therapy sessions. I am able to provide a ‘superbill’ to facilitate you receiving reimbursement from your insurer. If you have questions about out-of-network coverage, check here for information and tips on how to get the most from your insurance.

I offer a limited amount of sliding-scale spots for clients based on financial need. Please contact me for further information on terms.

I currently only host sessions online. I use SimplePractice for all documentation, video calls, notes and billing- it is a HIPAA compliant platform with multiple levels of encryption working to keep all information securely, safely stored.

I feel strongly that missing a therapy session should not be an added stressor for my clients. Life happens, and appointments are missed! That’s why I offer every client three no-show, no-notice cancellations per year. If a client misses more than three sessions without giving notice at least 24 hours in advance, I reserve the right to implement a $50 late-cancellation fee.
If you’re running late, I will remain online in our ‘meeting’ room for 15 minutes. After that, if I have not heard from you, I will count the session as a late-cancellation and reach out to reschedule the session. Normal fees for the scheduled service will apply if the session starts late due to the client.

The actual process of therapy is simple (though simple does not always mean easy!) In a session, you speak with a licensed professional about whatever may be on your mind. Speaking with a licensed professional (as opposed to a friend or family member) offers the benefit of confidentiality and an added level of objectivity that someone close to you is not able to provide. Further, a licensed therapist is educated and trained for extending empathy and unconditional positive regard, assisting you in identifying emotions and your behavior in response to those emotions, and reflecting ‘yourself’ back to you. Licensed therapists are trained to avoid giving explicit advice to clients. Instead, a therapist may help you explore options and potential solutions to ongoing problems.

No. If you are seeking out medication, you will need to find a psychiatrist- a medical doctor whose primary role is prescribing medicine to manage mental health symptoms. Many clients use the services of both a psychiatrist and a therapist simultaneously, and I have previously established relationships with clients’ psychiatrists in order to provide a ‘team approach’ to a client’s treatment plan.

I generally respond to all emails within 24-48 hours of receipt, except over weekends (Saturday-Sunday) and holidays. I do not offer immediate response or crisis response services. If you are having an emergency, you can text or call ‘988’ to get in touch with a provider immediately, or visit them online to chat virtually with a professional.
